Psychodynamic Psychotherapist and Counsellor

I have always been fascinated by what shapes us as people — what helps us get through life’s challenges and what enables us to thrive. I believe each of us have unique strengths and potential but sometimes through life’s experiences can sometimes become blocked. Through self-awareness and understanding, we can begin to uncover those hidden parts of ourselves and reconnect with who we truly are.

With having completed nearly 4 years of extensive academic and clinical training, I concentrate on supporting those facing a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, anger management, relationship issues, low self-esteem, estrangement, cultural expectations, and grief for individuals seeking therapy. I have also facilitated groups on relational dynamics, cultural sensitivity and creating personal goals.

I have worked with a diverse range of individuals from varying backgrounds in the private sector, including the Priory Hospital, and have extensive experience within the NHS. I have also worked with charities such as Help the Aged and with many university students and young adults. Within all these settings I have offered both long-term and short-term psychodynamic psychotherapy.

I have had several years of personal psychotherapy throughout my formal training and therefore understand what it feels like to be a client in psychotherapy. In our collaborative journey,  I create a confidential space where you can openly explore your struggles. Together, we will make sense of your feelings and identify the changes you desire to see in your life.

Internal Insights

Here's a more detailed look at  psychotherapy:

What it is:

Psychotherapy is a “talking therapy” which offers a safe and confidential space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. It can help you find a deeper understanding of yourself, make sense of patterns in your life, and support you in creating a positive and lasting change.

How it works:

Through exploration and reflection, I help clients identify patterns, behaviours, and emotional responses that may be hindering their well-being. This can involve looking at past experiences, present situations, and the connections between them to understand their impact on current lives.

Benefits:

Increased self-awareness, a greater ability to manage emotions, improved relationships, and a sense of greater control over one's life are some of the potential benefits of internal insights.

Types of insight:

Insight can manifest in various forms, such as recognising unconscious patterns, understanding the root of emotional reactions, or developing a deeper understanding of one's own values and beliefs.
